Description of the procedure for the validation of prior learning 


In the counseling process, the candidate prepares a personal summary folder by the commission evaluate and recognize the contents of the catalog in part or in full. If the commission cannot recognize all the contents of the catalog, it shall assign tasks to the candidate checking.


In the practical task, the candidate demonstrates mastery of the flame welding method, in accordance with the standard SIST EN ISO 9606 (Welding proficiency testing - Fusion welding) or equivalent. The welder selects the type of joint in agreement with the commission (butt or angle) on sheet metal or pipe, group of base material, welding position and other details of implementation covered by the applied standard. Practically the check takes a maximum of 150 minutes. The examination of theoretical knowledge is carried out in writing and / or orally and lasts a maximum of 30 minutes. It includes checking knowledge of the procedure and method of work, materials and work equipment, safety and health at work, fire protection and quality in accordance with professional standard Flame welder / welder.

National vocational qualification

(NPK) is:

·         the procedure for obtaining a publicly valid document (certificate)

·         the process of obtaining a profession

·         the process of recognizing or confirming already acquired knowledge and skills.

The process of acquiring NPKs is generally divided into three sets:

1. candidate application

2. advising the candidate and preparing his collection folder (certificates, proofs, reference letters, articles, acknowledgments ...)

3. verification and validation of NPK


The candidate applies for the procedure on the announced application deadline. Check the implementation queries on the website of the organizations that implement the NPK for a particular profession.


During the counselling process, the candidate prepares a portfolio. The relevant committee assesses the portfolio and recognises the catalogue content in part or full. If the committee is unable to recognise all catalogue content, it assigns tasks to the candidate for verification. 

Verification method

Direct verification takes place at a place of assessment in the form of practical work and an oral presentation. The place of assessment (simulated user living environment) must meet the relevant material conditions.

Verification and assessment are carried out by committees for the verification and validation of national vocational qualifications, appointed by the National Examination Centre (NEC). Committee members must be licensed by the National Examination Centre.

Condition for obtaining certificate

The candidate demonstrates the attainment of the knowledge, skills and competences defined in the catalogue of standards of vocational knowledge and skills.

Verification criteria

Criteria to be taken into consideration:

  • approach to work
  • compliance with work instructions (especially the Inventory of the welding process, the so-called WPS and welding welding plans)
  • performing flame welding mode knowledge of basic, additional and auxiliary materials
  • appropriate work speed
  • combining practical and theoretical knowledge
  • product verification

  • The candidate may propose the type of joint (butt or corner), sheet metal or pipe, group of base material, welding position and other details regarding the performance of welding the test sample in the personal collection folder for the test sample in connection with the practical task for verification. practical tasks in case of candidate verification.
