- monitor market activity and conditions, determining the types and quantities of vegetables, legumes and nursery products to be harvested and planning and coordinating the subsequent production;.
- prepare the land by conditioning the soil, level the land, and install and operate irrigation and drainage systems;.
- plant trees, hedges, garden plants, lawns;.
- pruning and trimming trees, shrubs and hedges, installing plant supports and guards, and rolling, mowing, edging and aerating lawns;.
- devise designs and installations in gardens, such as paths or paved areas, walls, rockeries, lounge chairs, ponds and aquatic accessories, sheds and fences;.
- monitor the health of plants and trees, identify and treat weeds, pests and diseases, and apply mulches and fertilizers;.
- produce seedlings, bulbs and seeds and plants from seeds or cuttings;.
- inspect crops, clean, classify, pack, store and load products for sale or delivery to the market;.
- maintain buildings, greenhouses and other structures, equipment and water supply systems;.
- promote and market products, organize the sale, purchase and transport of products and supplies and the maintenance and evaluation of records on activities and transactions;.
- train and supervise workers in production, in maintenance tasks, and take health and safety precautions and hire and release workers and contractors.
