The candidate completes the application form for national vocational qualifications, where he also states whether he wishes to complete the course for acquiring knowledge for the NPK or if he wishes to only pass the exam.
The National Vocational Qualification (NPK) is a formal confirmation that you can prove your qualifications for pursuing a particular profession.
The procedures for acquiring NPK are relatively fast, as the acquisition of NPK can take into account the skills and knowledge acquired during the profession, volunteer work or leisure activities, by participating in informal education programs, self-learning, etc. NPK enables you to validate your informally acquired knowledge and not waste valuable time to learn what you already know.
The process of acquiring NPKs is generally divided into three sets:
- candidate application.
- advising the candidate and preparing his collection folder (certificates, proofs, reference letters, articles, acknowledgments ...)
- verification and validation of NPK.
Special conditions to be fulfilled by the person who want to obtain professional qualification.
- At least secondary or secondary professional education and
- 5 years of work experience in the field of accommodation facilities and
- Knowledge of foreign languages:
- English - level knowledge comparable to B1
(which is demonstrated by the candidate with a final certificate of secondary general education for a subject in English or a completed English or an English language examination at least B1 level with a second certified peer certificate for a level of at least B1 with a certificate of successful completion of at least elementary education where the lesson is conducted in English issued in Slovenia or abroad) - foreign language - by choice, knowledge at level comparable to B1
(which the candidate proves by the final certificate of secondary general education for the chosen foreign language or a completed general or vocational matura from the chosen language at a level of at least B1 or with another validate certificate for a level of at least B1 or with a certificate of successful completion of at least basic education where instruction performed in the selected language or for a selected object issued in Slovenia or abroad)
- English - level knowledge comparable to B1
Methods of verification of professional skills

In the process of counselling, the candidate prepares a personal collection folder evaluated by the commission, and if the candidate has provided credible, valid and relevant evidence of skills, competencies and professional standards, the commission may:
- recognize the contents of the professional standard as a whole,
- recognize the content of the professional standard in part and determine the knowledge, skills and competences it will verify,
- does not recognize any content of the professional standard because the candidate does not demonstrate any knowledge, skills and competences from the professional standard and will verify, mutatis mutandis, the entire professional standard.
Verification mode - a service with a defense.
The candidate in the practical demonstration of services proves the control of the required professional competencies according to the requirements of the professional standard. Upon execution of the service, an oral defense of the task is carried out, which includes verification of knowledge and skills in accordance with the professional standard of the Manager / Manager of the hotel operator.
